I wore the sweater above to work one day and this is what happened… Email from Aubrey to me: “Did anyone… tell you that you have a big hole in your shirt?” Email to Aubrey from me: “SHIT. No? Where? Can you see my bra? I’m so embarrassed.” Next email from Aubrey to me: “It’s like this…” sent with an attached picture she had drawn in paint-shop (or whatever that weird program is that let’s you draw pictures) showing me, the holes in my sweater, a pink bra strap (I wasn’t wearing a pink one) and then a bunch of faces with an arrow pointing to them with “people gasping.” I’m lucky that my co-workers are hilarious and we have the same humor. I think it’s important to be teased a little bit, it keeps you from feeling like a stud and being able to laugh at yourself sometimes is necessary.
That said, I like my slashed sweater. Sally and I have it in brown too (you can see it in this post) and we originally found them after seeing Meg sport them. I like that it’s an edgier version of a cozy knit sweater and it’s especially perfect for this time of year now that the temperatures do weird things and it’s hot one minute and cold the next. The one I’m wearing is no longer available (or at least I couldn’t find it) but I love these other slashed and holed knits: one, two, three, four.
