For quite some time now I have had my heart set on someday including a rattan hanging chair in a future home space someway, somehow. A few months ago I became so obsessed with having one in my life that I scoured the internets in hopes of finding one that was semi budget friendly. Sadly, no such luck. Tons of amazing options in the over $1,000 range (well of course) or Serena and Lily’s option which is still pretty pricy for me. I had never forgotten about the idea but kind of pushed it to the back of my mind out of exasperation from coming up with nothing in all of my searches (I am typically pretty good at finding things online). Lo and behold my boyfriend and I were stuck indoors during last weekend’s chilly weather and watching basketball when a Pier 1 commercial came on and a rattan hanging chair (!!!!) flashed across the screen during the commercial. Pier 1′sSwingasan Chair is the hanging chair of my (future) dreams and the price isn’t horrible on the wallet either. I am hoping that I can find some sort of a coupon code or special too to make it even more affordable.
I was legit giddy excited after seeing the commercial and totally set to buy this chair and work it into my bedroom in any way I could when my boyfriend crushed my dreams and told me that it was going to require a lot of work to hang and probably wouldn’t work in my apartment. Something to do with finding studs in the ceiling, leaving a big hole, etc, etc. Big. Fat. Bummer. Good thing I am the biggest optimist you’ll ever meet and think that everything will work out and we’ll all ride off into the sunset on unicorns, so I didn’t take what he said too seriously. Studs and apartments or not, I will be making Pier 1′s hanging chair mine and if I can’t make it work in my current living situation, you can bet that I will in the future. What do you think of the hanging chair look? It just screams happiness, fun, and instantly gives that laid back vibe. I have never been one to take home decor too seriously so why not add a little place to swing into the mix. Whats a room without a fun little conversation piece like this guy anyway?
Happy Eater weekend, chickens! I hope you get the eggs with the money in them and enjoy whatever festivities you have planned. This week kind of ate me alive so I plan on laying low and diving into a new book (Bradley has recommended this guy to me – any reviews?). I’ve gots some updates below – and I feel kinda like a news reporter for rattling them off, but there’s important things I can’t flesh out in full blog posts!
+ Hurry, hurry – the Rikshaw giveaway ends today! I’m wearing the Camp Shirt right this minute and I had on my scarf yesterday… Don’t miss your chance to win these perfect pieces!
+ Today is our last day pinning for OTTE and I’m a little sad for our guest pinning time to be ending ): Sally and I had so much fun curating images that fit with the “OTTE girl” lifestyle and aesthetic – theboard will definitely be acting as our “mood board” for the spring and summer seasons. So many good things.
+ We’re two of the six bloggers featured on Lily & Violet showing what we would be packing for our dream trips – here’s my list and this is Sally’s. So, so many cute (and affordable) things from Lily & Violet that are perfect for spring and summer… See all the blogger picks here!
+ Thank you to the girls of Anna Crosswell blog for featuring us today as their TGIF post today! Check it out… We had fun doing the Q+A (:
+ If you liked those Old Navy dresses Sally was sporting yesterday in her post, you’ll love that Old Navy is offering 30% off your entire purchase (online only). Use the code “THANKYOU” at checkout before April 1st.
The vivid green Rag & Bone dress above would have been perfect for St. Patricks’s Day – and I know it’s so in-your-face bright – but the detail on it is incredible and it looks like such a flattering fit. So it made the wanted list… Some good things to know if you’re in the shopping mood: kate spade Saturday is officially available to buy online!! I have this iPhone case and love it but there are a couple other black and white stripe things calling to me. BaubleBar is having a “Spring Cleaning” sale with items up to 60% off. Get at it before everything sells out! What else? Lulu Frost is offering 20% off her Power Collection and there are soo many good things. But I just want an arm full of these vintage-looking brass carving bangles. And, if your feeling like your drawer of under things is lacking, go look at the intimates from Free People – so cute. Tootles!
