You know how every one says that a woman needs to have a signature scent? Well… I don’t have one. And I’ve always found this slightly tragic but at the same time haven’t wanted to push myself to find the right one – I wanted it to find me. It’s the lazy girl approach to smelling good. A few years ago I bought this fragrance which I always liked but it never seemed to stay on my skin very long… I used it till it about 4 months ago when it was all gone (it took me 2 years to use up a whole bottle – is that normal?). So I’ve just been letting this stuff be the only smell on me while waiting for something more lady-like to jump out at me.
Last night Sally and I visited our favorite local boutique, Haven, for a little shopping and while talking to the adorable owner I absent-mindedly starting putting on some Joie hand cream they had on the counter. This was my scent! I finally found it! And it’s by one of my favorite brands – match made in heaven! It’s feminine but strong (any Dane Cook fans here?), pretty but not overly fragrant, and sort of reminds me of this without being cloying. But it was in the form of a hand cream… The owner assured me that the Folle de Joie also came in a fragrance and it took me all of 3 seconds of being home before finding it on the Joie site.
“Derived from the ease of California’s warm sea scented beaches and romanticized by Parisian charm, Folle de Joie embodies the carefree yet sophisticated JOIE lifestyle. Folle de Joie opens with a burst of freshness from the Italian Mandarin and South American Petitgrain giving way to playful hints of cognac. The sensual mid notes of the orange blossom, jasmine, white lily and Damascenia rose add a feeling of summer’s carefree essence to the scent. Exotic aromas come into their own as warm base notes of Musk, Amber and precious Sandalwood broaden the seductive scent.” And it comes in a classic, chic, clean bottle? Done and done. Ordering mine today and probably going back to Haven this weekend to get the cream, too:)

I love that description, very effective… I’m off to visit the site now ♥
I’m the same way about scent, I just want it to find me. A few months ago I was flipping through a magazine when I got a wife of the new See by Chloe perfume a d I was hooked. Looks like the perfume company putting those samples in all those magazines for years finally worked on someone!
i have the same problem with scents— they seem to fade off quickly throughout the day and i honestly can’t find one that i love. might need to try this one!
I love Joie, so I’ll definitely try out that scent, I’m always up for trying something new! thank you for sharing…xv

Finding your scent can be truly difficult, and I’m still trying to find mine. It takes me forever to get through perfume bottles too, which I can decide if that is a good thing or not. Congrats on finding your scent! It’s little things like that which keep life exciting.
