Sally and I had so, so much fun hosting the Summer Beauty event with MAKE UP FOR EVER this past Saturday… It’s not every day you get to play with make-up all day and learn from the pros so we soaked up every glorious minute and loved getting to see all the people that stopped in for the event. Thank you to all of you that were able to come – we loved getting to meet you! And if you we’re able to come, we have all of our personal must-haves listed below… Favorites that we can’t live without: this primer, this foundation (so, so light it’s incredible), and this concealer (all day coverage, friends).
We were lucky enough to have our make-up done for the event by Heather and Joshua – the Dallas store managers – and honestly, we’ve never seen our skin look better. Check out the list of MAKE UP FOR EVER’s boutiques to see if there’s one near you… You can always buy their products online from Sephora, but its sooo much fun to be in their store and have the professionally trained artists helping you out. And even though they are known for their high pigment hues and long-wearing formulas, you will NOT come out looking like a clown or drag queen (unless that’s your thing, if it is they have you covered in spades). They really listen to what you want and only enhance your natural beauty!
Thank you again to our friends at MAKE UP FOR EVER for inviting us to be part of the one year anniversary celebration for the Dallas store! We can’t wait to wear our Aqua products all summer long and will be back soon for some Educational Classes!!
It’s almost time for the weekend… And for those of you in the Dallas area, we hope you have RSVP’d to the MAKE UP FOR EVER Summer Beauty event we are hosting tomorrow! We realllly want to hang out with you guys. And as if you need another excuse to come to the event, check out the incredible face charts a very talented MUFE artist did of the two of us based on the products we picked as our favorites. You’ll be able to see all the items we picked when you come to the event and we’ll be right there with the professionals to show you how to use it all!
RSVP to NorthParkBoutique@makeupforeverusa.com (or just show up from 12-4!)
It never ceases to amaze me the strange things we end up sharing with you all on this blog. Things like what this post is about to be allll about – deodorant. On a day to day basis, I really do try my best to make healthy choices when it comes to the food I’m putting in my body or the products I am using on my body. Especially when we live in a world full of processed foods and chemicals that most of us are hardly aware of. Thinking about these things too much honestly freaks me out. Especially processed foods. Think about it, we are buying and eating stuff that we really have no idea where it came from, what exactly is in it, and what affect that stuff will have on our bodies. Jeez louise.
One of the things that I use on a daily basis, but had yet to make any healthier changes on is my deodorant. I told you that we were about to get realll close. I’ll be honest with you, I sweat like crazy. A lovely gene that I can thank my father for. And when I sweat, I smell like a goat (literally). Its super feminine and definitely one of my best qualities/probably what my boyfriend loves the most about me. Don’t worry though, I have learned to adapt just like the goats probably do. I shower daily (at least) and use a clinical strength deodorant to try to keep anything unpleasant at bay. The bad news? That clinical deodorant of mine is legitimately not at all good for me and is in fact pretty bad for me. But, I’m just not confident that anything else could do the trick.
Molly swears by Sam’s Natural Deodorant, but the stuff just doesn’t mesh well with my body’s natural “scent”. I am bound and determined to find something that will work, so this past weekend I spend $25 on some natural deodorant by Kai. Kai is my new favorite scent that I have been wearing as a perfume so I figured that a deodorant version couldn’t hurt. I don’t know if my body needs to get used to the stuff or what, but I feel like I smell like death right now (yes, I showered this morning like I do every morning). It doesn’t help that I have a hypersensitive sense of smell and am so self-conscious about smelling bad. Here’s where I ask for a little advice. Does my body need to get used to this natural stuff? If I smell does it mean its not working? Does anyone know of a clinical strength natural deodorant? HELP!!
Maybe I should just throw in the towel, channel Matthew McConahay and embrace my inner hippie like this little chick above?
