I know its only Monday and that we are just coming off of a weekend, but I can’t help but look forward to the upcoming holiday and three day weekend.  Please tell me that I’m not the only one?  With little to no daytime plans, I have images in my mind of relaxing all day every day.  Maybe even getting some pool time with the pups – our favorite warm weather activity.  I swear its like I haven’t sat down in weeks and haven’t had a really relaxing weekend in weeks either.  We have fun plans for each night of the weekend with a birthday dinner Friday night, a Mexican night Saturday night, and a cook out on Sunday night.  All with good friends that I feel like I haven’t seen in ages.  Here’s to hoping that this work week flies by so that the much needed three-day weekend gets here soon!  Both Molly and I are big fans of dressing festive for the holidays, but not too festive – if that makes sense?  We won’t be emblazoning ourselves with American flags head to toe, but we most definitely will be sporting some good ole red, white, and blue throughout the weekend:)  I almost purchased that Target bikini the other week, and I might just have to get it this week.  Its not too festive that I couldn’t wear it on other occasions and I love the style.  Whether you’ll be by a lake, pool, beach, or grill, there’s lots of fun finds for a festive three day weekend.  Woop. Woop.

1. TGIF.  I’m kind of sort of totally taking on more at the j.o.b.  It’s really exciting stuff (truly) but now that it’s the end of the week, my brain needs a break.  Or at least a weekend recharging.

2. Puppies!  Sally and I are moving out the current apartment we share together in August and today we’re starting to look at new potential places to live… The best part about this is that the new place will need to be dog friendly – because as soon as we move I’m getting a puppy!  Not a spotty Dalmatian, but I had to use this picture because it melted my heart.  Can even really talk about how excited I am.

3.  I got these shoes from Zara via their free shipping and when they came in, they were too big (which is really weird?).  I’m going to the store tonight to try on a smaller size and crossing my fingers that they fit… I desperately want a minimalistic strappy shoe in my life!

4. I bought three different Blue Bell ice cream flavors from the grocery store last night (evidence) and it makes me wildly excited to think about digging into each over the weekend.  Just need to get my hands on the red velvet and lemon bliss next.

5. Guess what I’ve been wearing a lot of?  Statement necklaces.  I know… I never thought I’d see the day.  I’m still staying loyal to my love of dainty gold chains but layering sparkly chunky numbers on top of them from Lulu Frost, Cornwall Street, and few others.  Maybe I like it because it seems totally ironic due to my avoidance of them for so long?

6. Wearing tonal tan hues looks nice… when you have a tan.  Which is exactly what Sal and I are getting tonight – spray tans via St. Tropez at Nordstrom.

7. Love these rows of hanging flowers.

8. I’ve been feeling the void of not having an inspiration board for tear sheets… Liking Erin’s idea of using a clip board and leaning it in my room.  Might have to haul out my giant drawing board from fine art classes.

9. Saturday night Sals and I are getting all dressed up for Bradley’s wedding!  Can’t wait to share our dresses, jewels, accessories, and make-up with you after the event… As excited we are about getting glam and seeing our guys in tuxes, nothing compares to the excitement we have for seeing our gorgeous B as a beautiful bride.  Eeeek!

Have you all caught wind of Cherry Bombe, the new indie food magazine?  I first read about it on Into The Gloss and am this close to ordering a subscription so I can see all 174 pages of the first issue in person… Founded by friends and old Harper’s Bazzar co-workers, Kerry Diamond and Claudia Wu blended their talents and interests to create Cherry Bombe.  ”Kerry went on to work in beauty and fashion and opened two Brooklyn restaurants (Seersucker and Nightingale 9) and one coffee shop (Smith Canteen) with her chef boyfriend. Claudia opened her own graphic design firm, Orphan, and launched Me Magazine, the cult indie publication.”  Learn more about Kerry and  Claudia via The Tory Blog and this Style.com article.

The first issue features the faces Garance Doré, Karlie Kloss, Emily Weiss, Sofia Coppola, and more – and is aptly dubbed The Tastemakers Issue.  My favorite part of the biannual mag – aside from that it’s all about food from a feminine only perspective – is that the first issue was funded completely by Claudia and Wu with the help of Jo Malone London as a sponsor, and the Kickstarer Project that was started to fund the second issue was surpassed by $12,000 May 3rd!  Girl Power hasn’t looked this good since the Spice Girls ever looked so good.  Clearly, the magazine was destined to be born by these industry insiders.
