Tomorrow night I head to Las Vegas—a city I have yet to visit and frankly, one I never thought I would (gambling freaks me out and my wardrobe isn’t conducive to clubbing all night long). But when one of my fave blogger friends Amy invited me on a couple’s getaway to Sin City my boyfriend and I decided to leap at the chance. You only live once, right? I wont lie… Packing for the trip is a little intimidating but I’ll be taking clothes that are a bit more body-hugging and a little shorter than usual – but they’ll still look and feel like my personal style – and plan on amping up my accessories for some flash (when in Rome, ya know). Here’s a little inspirational round-up of Vegas worthy goodness. My thoughts: when in doubt, bring on a bandage skirt!
It was another long week, wasn’t it? Since most of the Dallas schools are on Spring Break, I’ve had wistful thoughts of getting away to somewhere warm – or at least investing in a new pair of sandals for the 70-80 degree weather we’re having. It is spring time yet?! Just watch… In a matter of weeks I’ll be complaining about the heat (: Alas, today I’ve got a spike of green (in honor of St. Patrick’s Day this Sunday), some casual, some leather, some stuffs for your home, and some accessories for yourself. All you Cubs fans need that hat up there… Cheers to Friday!
I have had swimwear on my mind, big time, this week. When Mol and I stopped in to Haven the other day I fell in love with two bathing suits that I am dying to have for some summer beach trips and now…this. The DVF loves ROXY collaboration that has finally come to fruition today. The legendary Diane von Furstenberg paired the bold and graphic prints that she is known for with Roxy’s signature swim silhouettes to create one hell of a collaboration. And just in time for summertime. Still to this day, I can remember that one of my first ever bikinis (aka tankini) was by Roxy. I think I was 13 or so and I just thought I was the cat’s meow. You know, awkwardly skinny and cute like that. Nothing at all like the cool surfer girls you see above.
You can watch a video here on the Roxy Blog where Diane is interviewed (on the beach no less) and explains her theory behind the collaboration with Roxy. She compares her well known mantra of “following your heart” to the action of riding a wave – you commit and then trust yourself that all will go as planned. I kind of love that. I definitely plan on picking up at least one of the suits, but what I really want is one of those surfboards to go above my bed!
