Sally and I had the pleasure of meeting one of Dallas’ most celebrated jewelry designers last weekend – Elizabeth Showers. A woman whose beauty outshines even her prettiest pieces, Elizabeth was so down-to-earth and her passion for her work and name-sake company was so transparent in how she spoke to us. A designer for more than 17 years, her designs are definitely a stand-out… “Effortlessly feminine and fresh, Elizabeth Showers’ jewels reflect the light and optimism of her own easy personality.” More than anything, Elizabeth strives to make women feel beautiful, not just look beautiful – a mission we of course stand behind!
If Elizabeth’s designs are new to you – take the time to discover her site and shop her amazing spring SALE! I’m a big fan of these pretty hoops (on sale for $135!), this ring, and these sparkly bangles… Hurry on over – stuff is selling out!
There is no denying the fact that the talented Miss Jamie Meares and her insanely cool shop, Furbish, has a style that is uniquely their own, so when Jamie asked us if we would be interested in picking our favorite Furbish pieces for a pop up shop, we jumped at the opportunity. Part of the plan was not only to pick our favorite accessories from her shop, but to style them as well. While in the process of “zhushing” our outfits with all sorts of Furbish awesomeness we uttered the phrase, “what would Jamie do?”. We wanted to be sure that throughout our “shoot”, we were channeling that style that is so unique to Furbish. This means – prints, prints, and more prints and lotsss of color, too. Doing this allowed us to create that complete Jamie Meares flair that she is adoringly known for.
The pieces in the pop up shop are quite perfect – if we do say so ourselves and we couldn’t have had more fun styling them. Be sure to “pop” in and scoop up something good while its still there. And don’t forget to ask yourself, “what would Jamie Meares do?”
Sometimes, even when you’re wearing running clothes (for running errands of course) and your hair looks like a slob kabob, the littlest bits of jewelry can make you feel (and maybe look) like a million bucks. Or at least that’s how jewelry works with me! I’ll go make-up less but you’d hardly ever see me naked of a piece of jewelry or two… I’m a dainty junkie at heart but I’ve been working on throwing on the occasional statement piece and wearing more color. Stella & Dot stylist Lori McMinn was kind enough to send some dainty AND colorful bits our way and I’ve been loving how versatile they are for everyday wear… You might recognize the Moraley Flower Stack rings from this post but the multi-colored bracelet is a newbie. Called the Spirit Bracelet, sales from it benefit Autism Awareness – which is quite fitting since the April is Autism Awareness Month. Lori, being the sweet stylist she is, wants to help you accessorize for spring and summer… She’s generously gifting one A Piece of Toast reader a $100 Stella & Dot credit!
