Aside from wanting every.single.thing from Bailey’s new bedding roll out (my bed is gearing up for some Jenny Shams and maybe some Katie Sheets in a new color-way? The sheets are unbelievable, trust me, I’ve slept in them), I’ve got my eye on a whole lot of greatness this week. A few of these things I have been thinking about alll week long after seeing them while out and about in Austin last weekend. I came this close to making the Pucci coffee table book mine, and have definitely moved it to the top of my book list. I try to purchase new coffee table books every so often in order to build a collection. It has been so much fun to do. We also saw these Givenchy Jelly Gladiators in Austin and they are beyond. Ever since Molly told me about Coach’s handbags in the pale pink, I can’t get the thought of owning one out of my brain. I think this is definitely my favorite style. With a fun trip to Houston in a few weeks to go to a music festival, I have been pinning all of my favorite festie looks here. Potpourri-printed All Stars (sidenote: the shoes can be personalized with initials – I see a sister purchase) are definitely a necessity for the occasion! Those and a great neon, embroidered tunic like this one. Molly, who is not one to appreciate anything monogrammed, even fell for this teeny tinymonogram necklace. Definitely adding it to my birthday list for this summer:) I honestly don’t do a whole lot of yoga and when I do, my gym provides the mats, but I feel completely compelled to buy this yoga mat just because I have never in my life seen anything quite so cool. Have a yoga-loving friend with a birthday coming up? You HAVE to get her this. Done and done.
Words cannot describe how happy I am that tomorrow is Friday or how excited I am for this weekend. Lots of fun things planned with the sister including our Makeup Forever event (favorite new obsession! dying to try this) and Bradley’s long-awaited wedding. Eeeek!!
It never ceases to amaze me the strange things we end up sharing with you all on this blog. Things like what this post is about to be allll about – deodorant. On a day to day basis, I really do try my best to make healthy choices when it comes to the food I’m putting in my body or the products I am using on my body. Especially when we live in a world full of processed foods and chemicals that most of us are hardly aware of. Thinking about these things too much honestly freaks me out. Especially processed foods. Think about it, we are buying and eating stuff that we really have no idea where it came from, what exactly is in it, and what affect that stuff will have on our bodies. Jeez louise.
One of the things that I use on a daily basis, but had yet to make any healthier changes on is my deodorant. I told you that we were about to get realll close. I’ll be honest with you, I sweat like crazy. A lovely gene that I can thank my father for. And when I sweat, I smell like a goat (literally). Its super feminine and definitely one of my best qualities/probably what my boyfriend loves the most about me. Don’t worry though, I have learned to adapt just like the goats probably do. I shower daily (at least) and use a clinical strength deodorant to try to keep anything unpleasant at bay. The bad news? That clinical deodorant of mine is legitimately not at all good for me and is in fact pretty bad for me. But, I’m just not confident that anything else could do the trick.
Molly swears by Sam’s Natural Deodorant, but the stuff just doesn’t mesh well with my body’s natural “scent”. I am bound and determined to find something that will work, so this past weekend I spend $25 on some natural deodorant by Kai. Kai is my new favorite scent that I have been wearing as a perfume so I figured that a deodorant version couldn’t hurt. I don’t know if my body needs to get used to the stuff or what, but I feel like I smell like death right now (yes, I showered this morning like I do every morning). It doesn’t help that I have a hypersensitive sense of smell and am so self-conscious about smelling bad. Here’s where I ask for a little advice. Does my body need to get used to this natural stuff? If I smell does it mean its not working? Does anyone know of a clinical strength natural deodorant? HELP!!
Maybe I should just throw in the towel, channel Matthew McConahay and embrace my inner hippie like this little chick above?
