Yesterday—our second day at the beach—was sunny with just a minimal amount of min-day rain. Kind of perfect. Down the beach from us some guys were fishing and caught two Bull Sharks. Not so perfect for a scared-of-the-ocean-and-all-sharks-and-sealife person like me. Excited for day three today which will include beach time, a wee little bit of shopping, and some night life. Happy Tuessssday!!
Its here, its here! The beach weekend that is. Although we don’t technically leave until tomorrow evening, its the last work day of the week which means that all that’s left is packing and getting last minute things done before leaving town. Obviously this weeks wanted list was inspired by thoughts of being on the beach in less than 48 hours. Notice the two pairs of sunglasses? Clearly a little bit eager to lounge in the sun! Any recommendations for a good beach read? That is one thing that I have yet to tackle before we leave!
Is it just me, or does this time of year just seem beyond crazy? We had a wedding this weekend, have one next weekend, and have lots of other little events thrown into the mix as well. Lets just say that our weekends have been pretttyy jam packed. Then there’s graduation. It’s bananas. Shopping for a grad gift that is. To most, finding the perfect gift for a graduate can seem like a daunting task. You want it to be memorable and special, but useful all at the same time. It can’t be a completely random gift, as you want there to be a little bit of meaning behind it. Like, a great canvas weekend bag for visits home if its someone going off to college. Or a fresh set of Biscuit sheets for the college graduate we will most likely be in need of some brand spanking new bed linens. Personalized gifts always fit the bill for a graduate of any age. BaubleBar has darling monogram and initial jewelry that I wouldn’t mind owning myself. You can also find great initial Jewelry boxes, iPad cases, and a Claire Vivier Catch-All for loose change and jewelry. All of which would be useful and special for any graduate. Guys are a little tougher (per usual) when it comes to graduation gifts, but I love the idea of a great watch or a fresh new dop kit – both are things that they most likely won’t be buying for themselves. If all else fails, what guy doesn’t love a good gadget? We’re pretty much obsessed with our UP Bracelets, or an iPad is sure to knock their socks off.
When I graduated from high school 8 years ago (umm scary), my aunt and uncle gifted me a hand-painted ceramic piggy bank and put cash in it (didn’t find that out until years later!). The bank is the type where they only way to get the money out is to smash it. Over the years I have been filling it and filling it with loose change. Just last year I was walking by the bank and the light was shining just right and I noticed that there were some bills in there. Surprise!! Those sneaks. It made me all the more eager to smash that puppy open. I am so close to finally filling the bank to its brim. This JA Donkey Bank is pretty awesome and would be great for the same use. Just think, they’ll think of you every time they add to it:)
