When I came across one of the above photos on Pinterest the other day it was one of those instances where I re-pinned it and then quickly followed the picture to its original source to find more of the magic.  No surprise here when I came to find out that it was non other that the home of the uber-talented Jenni Kayne.  The Los Angeles home is pretty much perfect in every way in my book – warm woods mixed with mostly neutrals and lots of pretty soft textures all surrounded by an abundance of windows letting in loads of natural light.  Kayne’s house manages to look lived in, warm, and family friendly while also being perfectly aesthetically pleasing both architecturally and interiors-wise.  I love the combination of the homes’ modern lines and natural elements like reclaimed woods and travertine floors and the views of the gorgeous backyard throughout the home certainly doesn’t hurt either.

While the bones of the house and the furniture are of neutral colors, Kayne managed to bring color into each room through the use of artwork, accessories, and rugs.  Even her two little one’s playroom is neutral in the best possible way.  Who needs juvenile primary colors, when you can have something like they have?  Cozy textures and the most whimsical decor are both timeless and child-friendly.  The same can be said for Jenni Kayne’s children’s rooms – I am kind of speechless over her daughter Ripley’s nursery.  That framed Hermes scarf, the butterfly installment on the ceiling, and the light fixture – what a magical place to wake up to each morning as a baby.  I think I could go on for days about why I am completely in love with this home.  This will definitely be saved for the archives as inspiration for a future home:)

P.S. – If you’re like me and have been coveting a pair of Jenni’s d’Orsay flats, now is the time to get them… Because Shopbop is having their pre-spring sale!  Shop and get up to $300 off?  Um, that’s major.  Just use the code SPRINGEVENT at checkout.  I want these or these babies so, so much…
