Lottsss of good finds this week, friends!  This is going to be short and sweet because its been one crazy Wednesday.  Crazy week, actually.  Molly and I have an even crazier weekend ahead of us.  I have to say, I think I am going to be glad when things slow down a little bit.  We were talking last night about how excited we our for our family beach vacation that is coming up in less than a month.  It will be so nice to just unplug and do nothing all day long.  I have been eying West Elm’s beach towels for weeks now and I really think that its about time I buy one now that they’re on sale.  They’re so classic, and with our trip and our apartment pool, we can always use a few more around our place.  I love the idea of monogramming it and giving it as a gift, too!  Both Molly and I were talking the other day about how this one pair of Tory Burch sandals that we both have and bought years ago have literally held up like brand new over the years.  It definitely makes me want to invest in another pair.  Knowing that something will last makes all the difference.  These come in the best colors, I don’t know how I would choose.  I think I am partial to the blue?  A great neutral, yet still fun.  If you’re in need of a pair of loafers, Dolce Vita’s Luna pair also comes in great colors and they’re a steal.  Just wheelin’ and dealin’ over here guys.  Nothing screams summer quite like eyelet, right?  Love the blue in this J.Crew top to pair with white jeans!  I’ve been wanting these striped shorts from ASOS from a long time coming now and I think its about time I make them mine?  So versatile and I live in shorts in the summer.  Top the shorts off with a wrap sweater and you’re set for this time of year:)  How about that insane sale going on at Barneys Warehouse?  I kind of had to stop myself from looking – the prices are just that good.  So many pretty handbags.  Molly and I both have been wanting one of these A. Wang clutches!

Hope you’re all having a happy Wednesday!  And thank you SO much for the tips on my TMI post yesterday.  Its good to know that I’m not alone in my weirdness/grossness (?).  I’ve decided to stick it out with my Kai and keep it in my purse during the day in the event that I need a little added freshness:)

It’s here, it’s here! Friday that is:) And so is a whole new grouping of things I can’t seem to take my mind off of. Really wishing that I had come across this Topshop dress in time to order for our Cinco de Mayo celebration this weekend – would have been quite fitting. As would the Tory bag that is too cool for words. Talk about a conversation starter. Although the bag may seem a bit “out there” to some, it really could be worn with just about anything throughout the summer. A couple of weekends ago we were able to meet adorable Emily who works for Tuckernuck (a must visit if you haven’t yet!) and she was sporting a pair of Visconti and Du Reau Manila Sandals that I could not stop staring at. They’re kind of everything, no? So is Kate Spade’s new cork iPad case. I love the fact that its neutral, yet so far from boring. It would make a fun gift, too! Speaking of gifts, who wouldn’t want a Zoology workspace accessory like a flamingo tape dispenser or seahorse scissors. Not kidding, I think I need these – I actually don’t own a tape dispenser so it must be meant to be? When our new bff Amber was in town a few weekends ago she religiously used and raved about Josie Maran’s Bohemian Waves hair mist that manages to turn her “straight as an arrow” hair into the perfect beachy waves. Buying some of this keeps moving further and further down on my to do list, but tomorrow is ze day. A trip to Sephora is in order for that and a product were both excited to try, Makeup Forever’s new Aqua Lip Pencil.

Yay for Friday and the fun weekend we have planned down in Houston en la casa de McCarthy!

I have always been one of those girls that rarely ever wears my hair up.  (Don’t worry though, I do wear a pony at the gym)  My hair requires every day washing (ugh!), so after going through the effort of showering and blow-drying, it has always seemed pointless to then throw it up.  I also feel wayy prettier with my hair down.  Lately though, I have been blow drying it until it is just barely dry and then putting it into a bun or braid to change things up a bit.  I have mastered the fishtail braid perfectly on other people, but just cannot get it right on myself.  I have a hard time starting it out tight so then my shorter pieces of hair fall out and I look like a hot mess.  Not cute.  I think my hair needs to be a touch longer so that all of the pieces will stay in and look like the above images.

In the meantime, I was pretty excited to see that the Tory Burch Blog posted on the art of fishtailing the other day.  This braid was seen on all of the pretty models walking the runway for Tory’s showcase of Spring 2013.  Whether it was a single fishtail or two, the models looked perfectly whispy and bohemian.  With Spring officially here (!!) this braid seems perfectly appropriate – a fresh take on the usual braid or french braid.  Lucky for me (and you), hairstylist Eugene Souleiman gives us some pretty awesome instructions to creating this look all on your over on the Tory blog.  I promise, its not as hard as it seems!  I think I may attempt doing this on myself tomorrow morning – maybe a little hairspray will hold my hairs back?  Happy fishtailing!

On another note, 7 For All Mankind is running a 30% off promotion on select denim and there’s lots of colorful goodness – including the floral pair that we both had to have.
