There’s not much to say on this Monday to follow Molly’s Toast Talk – she kind of kills those doesn’t she? After reading her morning thoughts, be sure to listen to this brand spanking new Vampire Weekend song – we’re talking a new, not even out yet song. This past weekend was kind of amazing for so many reasons. It was unseasonably cold here (3os and 40s), so my boyfriend used that as an excuse to hide indoors all weekend starting and finishing the entire season of House of Cards. We made a little bit of Ina’s Bolognese Pasta, whipped up some gluten free Scotchies to satisfy my sweet tooth, snuck out to find him some swim trunks (we ended up with these) for an upcoming guys trip, and listened to this gem of a song allll weekend long. Oh, and did I mention that I am on “Spring Break” right now? One of the biggest benefits to working in a school. I plan to spend the week tackling some mahhjjjor cleaning and organizing in my room, going to classes at the gym every day, having dinners with friends, getting a Shellac manicure, and making a trip to Zara – all things that I can never seem to get to during my normally crazy work schedule. Lets just say that I am much more excited about this particular Monday that I normally am:)
We had one funnn filled and eventful weekend this past weekend – how about you all? It was my boyfriend’s birthday on Sunday and we pretty much celebrated alll weekend long. A yummy dinner on Friday night and a concert with friends on Saturday night. Needless to say, by the time Sunday rolled around we were more than ready to have a slow day outside with the pups. The 70 degree weather we had here yesterday made it the most perfect day for a trip to the new Klyde Warren Park with Aunt Molly. The park sits smack dab in the middle of downtown Dallas – a patch of green amongst all of the tall, gleaming buildings. The park has a little bit of something for everyone – a dog park, chairs and tables galore, a playground for the kids, putt putt, and little areas where you can rent anything from games, to books, to a bocce ball set. Literally, something for everyone. There is also a nice line up of food trucks to feed hungry tummys like ours. It was the perfect little respite we needed from an otherwise wild weekend and the greatest way to wind down on our Sunday.
