From the Mouths of Babes

As soon as I got this little gem of a video from a gal pal (CG) this morning, I knew what I would be posting today.  Its just too good.  Refered to as the “true philosophers who have yet to cloud their judgement with the harsh realities of the world”, children often have the simplest and straightforward answers to questions that seem to stump the rest of us.  Lets just say that I could write a book with conversations overheard about anything from smoking, to tatoos, to Santa Claus, to bowel movements and each is as good as the next. …

Music on My Mind…

October 24, 2012

After going to The Sheepdogs concert last night with my boyfriend, I’ve got music on the brain.  Particularly great, live music.  It has been since May (!!) since I was at a concert last, and let me tell you, I’ve missed having a little live music in my life.  My current favorite is from The Avett Brothers new CD, The Carpenter, and I can’t seem to stop listening to it.  Avett is one of those bands that I will probably never get sick of.  Not to mention that they are ahmmazzzingg in concert. Did I mention that we got to meet the band last night? Yes, yes we did.

I swear, once you start watching his covers you’re going to become addicted like I am.  I am lured in by that voice of his everytime….

Feathers in Our Hair

Today I am making the 12 hour trek (drive) with friends to Gulf Shores, Alabama for the Hangout Music Festival and I could not be more excited that this weekend is finally here.  Three days of music on the beach with the likes of DMB, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Umphreys McGee, Wilco, and Dr. Dog.  Yep, I’ll take it.  We went to the festival last year and had the time of our lives so I have pretty high hopes that this year will be equally amazing.  Please excuse me while I step away from the bloggie for a few days…

I had planned to write a little bit longer of a post today about my new favorite book, but sometimes life and work get in the way of those things, so here’s my latest favorite song for you instead! – Ho Hey by the Lumineers.  My friend Kelly, and major music buff, first introduced me to this song and we played it all weekend last weekend while getting ready and lounging around.  Definitely the perfect song as we go into the weekend!  Happy, happy Friday! xo (Video via YouTube) **P.S.
